The Oppenheimer Generations identity.
Designed to reflect the care held by the organisation for the lands and inhabitants of Southern Africa.
WORDMARK
The logotype is inspired by the landscape paintings of J.H. Pierneef, who both captured the landscape so well and created a visual language that was unique to the landscape itself. The logotype seeks a similar balance of expressive flow and geometric restraint.
THE KUDU
The styling of the kudu is inspired by Southern African linocut traditions, reflecting the rich history of engraving in the region. With its head facing backwards, while its body faces forwards, an eye on the past for wisdom, memory, appreciation, while moving toward the future.
HALLMARKS
The Oppenheimer Generations identity features a set of secondary icons inspired by hallmarks. This, while being a nod to the family’s historical business with precious metals, also speaks to measures of quality and standards of integrity.
